Top honours for Kerry Store at Irish Hardware Magazine Awards 2011

Richard Boyle & Sons, Killorglin, County Kerry has been awarded the title of Irish Hardware Magazine Retailer of The Year 2011. The Irish Hardware Magazine awards took place at Clontarf Castle in Dublin and saw the County Kerry store come out on top in a number of categories before taking the overall prize.

In addition to the stop spot, the store was awarded the accolades of Irish Hardware Magazine Paint Retailer of the Year, sponsored by Fleetwood Paints, Irish Hardware Magazine Trade Counter of the Year, sponsored by Contech Building Products and Irish Hardware Magazine Store of The Year – Over 15,000sq ft sponsored by Henkel Consumer Adhesives.

Irish Hardware magazine receives hundreds of entries for its annual awards.
Referring to the high-standards this year, Martin Foran editor of Irish Hardware, said that this was a testament to the quality which is currently in evidence right across the trade.

‘This year we were again impressed by the excellence of each entry,’ said Foran.
He added that the finalists were representative of merchants right throughout the country who had been ‘putting their best foot forward’ in the face of a challenging economic environment.

‘We have seen in these awards how, year-on-year, merchants have consistently raised their game,’ said Martin Foran. ‘This makes the judges’ job a very difficult one.

‘Having said that, judges felt that Boyles of Killorglin went the extra mile in a range of highly competitive categories.

‘As our Judges noted: “Boyles is a hugely impressive store on every level. It has a wonderful ambience and is very much part of its local community.”
